Robert Morris, MD, PhD

Robert D. Morris, MD, PhD, is a consulting epidemiologist and award-winning writer. He has taught and lectured at Tufts University School of Medicine, Harvard University School of Public Health, and the Medical College of Wisconsin. He served as an advisor to the EPA, CDC, NIH and the President’s Cancer Panel. His work has been featured in the New York Times and the London Times, and on Dateline NBC and the BBC. His first book, The Blue Death, received a Nautilus Gold Award and was named one of the Best Consumer Health Books of 2007 by the American Library Association. He holds a BA from Yale University, a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and both a MS in Biostatistics and an MD degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
William Gerardi, MD, MBA

William E. Gerardi, MD, is the President of The Phillips Road Group, Inc., a boutique consultancy providing strategic advisory services to clients in health services, life sciences and financial services, with an emphasis on clinical programs, IT and business strategies.
Dr. Gerardi has served as the Chief Medical Officer for a number of health plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, Aetna Better Health of Illinois, Resolution Health (an Anthem company). Prior to joining Anthem, Bill was Corporate Vice President and Executive Medical Director at Health Care Service Corporation, the parent company of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans of Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Montana.
He started his career at The Boston Consulting Group after receiving his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Gerardi received his Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Georgetown University and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco.

Avi (Avinoam) Shmueli is a polyglot software product manager who brings his rich experiences in product development and information technology to all his projects. As a program manager at Microsoft, Avi focused on designing and marshaling enterprise search features in products such as SharePoint and Windows. In the role of enterprise data architect at Colliers International, Avi had hands-on knowledge of building large-scale data quality pipelines, enterprise analytics platforms, and data warehouses. Avi built predictive models to assist in commercial real estate prospecting, and spent years as a solution architect, putting together disparate technologies to serve business needs. He finds satisfaction in providing the simplest solution to a clear need.
Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer
Donna Gerardi is a proven nonprofit leader with more than three decades of experience bridging the gap between science and policy at the national and state levels. Her most recent role is as executive director of the Washington State Academy of Sciences, after working in similar roles in California at the California Council on Science & Technology, where she was the co-architect of the first state-level Science & Technology Fellows Program, and at the US National Academy of Sciences, where she founded and directed its Office of Public Understanding of Science. She also has consulted with national and state level organizations on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, and founded Research Northwest, a non-profit organization devoted to generating best available science for policy decisions. She holds a BS in biology from Georgetown University and an MA in Science and Technology Policy from the George Washington University. She is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Joseph Lamport, JD

Joe Lamport is a digital marketing consultant, writer, publisher, and attorney, with more than 30 years experience working in law, finance and digital publishing. With a broad range of experience across the business landscape — as an associate with a big firm, an in-house counsel, the co-founder of an Internet start-up, a writer, publisher and a business consultant — I’ve learned the fundamental importance of collaboration from all sides of the marketplace – whether in writing a new book or preparing an SEC filing — today’s challenge is all about working as smart and fast as possible through effective teamwork. Mr Lamport holds a BA from Yale University and a JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.
